FYI:

The best information I know about for designing a rock bed storage is in
the old Solaron Manual (i.e., George Lof's old company out of Denver),
which includes design information and construction details. Also, FCHART
will do an analysis of an active air system if you know the parameters
for the pebble-bed storage. These are not simple to design, since there
is a bit of screening involved, and air flow through passages under
1,000s of lbs of rock. Solaron had this down to a science in their
installation manual. If you can't find a copy let me know.
