[BLDG-SIM] Explain this: overhangs in eQuest

Explain this:

How can I add overhangs to my South Facing windows and my electric and
gas consumption go up for the year?

I thought I was adding these to conserve energy! 

I have done this on a simple generic building and the same result
happened.

Any help would be appreciated.
