AFUE is for residential gas-fired furnaces. SEER is for the AC. You have to convert each separately to EIR for use by DOE-2.

Subject: [bldg-sim] EIR v AFUE / SEER

I have heard that EIR / COP are not equivalent to SEER / AFUE.

Under the ECB method, I am unsure what to enter for the budget (e.g. "code minimum") EIR for small AC units / boilers. (ASHRAE gives AFUE / SEERs; DOE-2 asks for EIR).

Can anyone offer guidance?

Thanks,
