                                                            Ian Beausoleil-Morrison, IBPSA-Canada, CANMET Energy Technology Centre
 
Ian Beausoleil-Morrison will speak about recent simulation activities at CANMET Energy Technlogy Centre of Natural Resources Canada. He will specifically focus on recent work related to the simulation of renewable energy technologies and non-conventional power generation systems for buildings. 
 
Ian Beausoleil-Morrison is the head of building simulation research at the CANMET Energy Technology Centre of Natural Resources Canada. He has been involved in the development of such simulation tools as EE4, HOT2000,
HOT3000, and BASECALC. Ian has researched and published widely on the topic of building simulation, on such aspects as internal surface convection, indoor air flow, ground heat transfer, validation, and fuel-cell cogeneration. Ian holds B.A.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees from the University of Waterloo and a Ph.D. from the University of Strathclyde (UK). He is a very active member of ASHRAE's Technical Committee 4.7 on Energy Calculations, has chaired its subcommittee on Simulation and Component Models, and sits on its committee that develops the ASHRAE Method of Test for the Evaluation of Building Energy Analysis Computer Programs. Ian is the Operating Agent for the International Energy Agency's Annex 42 on The Simulation of Building-Integrated Fuel Cell and Other Cogeneration Systems. In 2001 he received IBPSA's Young Contributor Award and sits on IBPSA's board of directors since 2004.
