To the list:

Many users of BLDG-SIM have inquired about the status of eQUEST and its
pending application for approval as a nonresidential Title 24
Alternative Calculation Method (ACM). On August 16, 2006, James J.
Hirsch & Associates submitted an application to the California Energy
Commission to have two products, eQUEST and D2Comply, certified as
nonresidential ACMs for compliance with Title 24. Title 24, Section
10-110, lays out specific procedures and time-lines the Commission's
Executive Director must follow when considering ACM applications. In
short, Title 24 requires that the Executive Director submit a
recommendation to the Commission with 90 days of receiving an
application. More than seven months after receiving our application, the
JJH team has received no response from the Executive Director regarding
this recommendation for or against approval. In attempt to try and get
our application moving forward, the JJH team sent a letter to the
Executive Director requesting a recommendation be placed on the
Commission's April 11 general business meeting. This letter can be
accessed at the following link:
http://doe2.com/download/eQUEST/JJHletterCEC_070319-kjm.pdf . The JJH
team remains hopeful that the Commission will approve eQUEST and
D2Comply as nonresidential ACMs at its April 11 meeting.
