Ramana,
The way I do multiple surfaces simulation is to subdivide the surfaces into small rectangles tiles (Modify>Surface Subdivision>Rectangular tiles) and then choose to simulate selected objects. This way is more time consuming but it works fine. I've tried what you are attempting as well but in vain. Let me know if it works out for you.
Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Pallavi

Subject: [Bldg-sim] ecotect - analysis grid on multiple surfaces
Dear all,
Has anyone tried assigning analysis grid to multiple surfaces with different orientations/tilt angles (roofs and walls) at once to do the incident solar radiation calculation in Ecotect? I have not been able to do it well in my first few attempts. I've noticed that a single surface with analysis grid assigned works fine.
Thanks,
