James -

On the Window Library Detailed View screen in WINDOW 5, the Type field
controls the height and width of the window. There are several choices in
the pulldown list, which you can use if these fit your window - you will see
the dimensions change as you pick the different types. The last 3 options in
that Type pulldown list are "Custom" options - Custom Dual Vision
Horizontal, Custom Dual Vision Vertical, and Custom Single Vision. Selecting
one of these three choices will allow you to then input values in the Width
and Height input fields.

Subject: [Bldg-sim] Window 5 program question

This question does not deal directly with a simulation program, but affects
a program that is used to calculate inputs that would go into a simulation
program such as eQuest.

I'm trying to use the Window5 program to correctly calculate overall window
properties (u-value, SHGC, VT, etc.) for a project.

Within the program I can't seem to be able to create a new window that has a
different width and height than the preprogrammed default --> 47.244" W by
59.055" H

The width and height are always grayed out and therefore unable to be
changed.

Does anybody know how to input different width and height values than the
default values?

Thanks a bunch for your help with this! :-)

Regards,

JAH
