For LINUX on a general purpose computer I would go for Open SuSE 11.0
which is on the DVD of the current issue of Linux Format -- the SuSE
green color is all over the cover. I paid a whopping $16 for it
in the US. It's cheaper in England its home turf (the mag) Dealer's
cost for single copy of Windows XP
Pro is over $130. SuSE is also offered through NOVELL in the US so
there is actual real professional
support on the phone, or online.......
