I haven't used EE4 recently, but with eQUEST, you can model the system
explicitly as a series fan powered VAV, and input the fan power for the
boxes directly.

Subject: [Bldg-sim] EE4 - Packaged VAV with Fan Powered Boxes

Hi,

I am trying to model a packaged VAV rooftop unit with fan-powered boxes in
the perimeter zones. After hours the RTU fans are off and the fan-powered
boxes cycle to maintain the night setback temperature.

How can I correctly model the fan energy for this system in EE4?

When I select "Packaged VAV" as my system type there is no option to enter
any fan energy at the zone level.

What should I use for a fan schedule and what should I put under "Fan
Operation" at the system level?

Currently I do not have the terminal fans entered anywhere, just the RTU
fans. I am not sure if I am over estimating the fan energy because the RTU
fans are cycling to maintain night setback; or if I am under estimating
the fan energy because there are no fans operating at night.

Also, if I have an exhaust fan in my RTU in addition to the supply fan and
return fan, should I include it with my supply fan or with my return fan?

Thanks,
