[Bldg-sim] Daylight factors in EnergyPlus: Does DELight account for external shading?

In response to the question from Ralph Evins regarding DELight accounting
for external shading:

No DElight does not account for external shading. I was surprised by this
myself, but checked the code to make sure. Although DElight is capable of
accounting for shading surfaces, none of the EnergyPlus Shading Surface
types are currently transferred to DElight for its calculations.

Subject: [Bldg-sim] Daylight factors in EnergyPlus: Does DELight account for
external shading?

How can daylight factors be calculated for a grid of points in an EnergyPlus
zone with external shading?

DELight allows up to 100 reference points to be defined, however this does
not appear to take into account any shading (Shading:Building,
Shading:Overhang, Shading:Zone etc).

The DELight input file _DELight.in contains a reference to BUILDING SHADES,
however I can’t find an EnergyPlus configuration that gives anything other
than "N_BShades 0".

Thanks,

*Ralph Evins*
