[Bldg-sim] BUILDING ENERGY MODELING WORKSHOP

I was also in attendance in San Francisco on Monday. I'm a relatively
new energy modeler (about 1.5 yrs experience) and found the seminar
incredibly informative. Here's a list of the learning objectives, taken
directly from the presentation:

* Explain the IBPSA building energy modeling body of knowledge

* Apply the ASHRAE Standard 90.1-2007 Performance Rating Method
in order to develop Baseline and Proposed Design energy models

* Identify best practices for providing high quality and
consistent modeling services

* Inform building design through energy modeling

* Develop an effective business case for energy efficiency

* Implement measurement and verification procedures that use
calibrated building energy simulation models to calculate savings

The seminar was focused on best practices and not a particular program,
though eQuest was prominently featured. As Andy mentioned, some of the
design tools that were presented are specific to eQuest.

I attended this in San Francisco on Monday of this week. It was an
excellent seminar. Great discussion of modeling fundamentals, informing
the design and a review of the performance rating method. They also went
through some useful tools for pre and post processing eQuest data.

Do you have a detailed syllabus and an intended audience that
you can share? Will this be specific to any particular simulation tools,
or focused on generic best practices?

Can anybody chime in on their experience with the workshop?
