[Bldg-sim] OCCUPANCY & PLUG LOADS IN BUILDING SIMULATION: Request for Speakers/Panelist, IBPSA-USA Boston Chapter

Dear friends in the larger Boston area (which of course includes NYC),

 

As previously announced by Holly and Diego, the IBPSA Boston Chapter is
organizing a series of 'research meets practice' type lectures during
which we want to discuss common problems related to building energy
modeling, the first one  being on setting occupancy and plug-load
schedules during design. While we have two speakers from the research
world, we would love to also hear how practice deals with the issue.
Please consider joining a 'civilized and friendly' discussion as a
speaker/panelist.

REQUEST FOR SPEAKERS/PANELISTS, IBPSA-USA Boston meeting May 19th

 

The IBPSA -USA Boston Chapter is extending the request for proposals for
presenters for its upcoming general membership meeting on May 19th. The
topic for this meeting:  

OCCUPANCY & PLUG LOADS IN BUILDING SIMULATION: How to generate reliable
occupancy and internal load schedules for design and retrofit projects,
relevant standards, practical survey methods, and other related research
or best practices.

 

Both practitioners and researchers are encouraged to participate.  If
you would like to present or contribute to a panel discussion on the
following topic(s) please send us a half page bio, including your
interest and experience in the topic.  If you would like to nominate a
presenter, please send his/her name and contact information.  The Boston
Chapter Technical Committee will then finalize the presenter selection
and notify all applicants.  

 

The 90-minute meetings will consist of a series of 10-45 minute
presentations and/or panel discussions.  The meetings will take place in
the Boston, Massachusetts area with an expected audience of over 50
IBPSA members.

Ibarra, dibarra at gsd.harvard.edu.  Proposal due:  Tuesday May 3rd, 2011!
