[Bldg-sim] CMVP Course offered in mid-September

Dear Bldg-Sim Community:
As many of you are experiencing, there is a significant momentum and growing interest surrounding the retrofit performance of existing buildings (predicted performance vs. actual performance). Often, energy simulation predictions are used to drive retrofit investment decisions, for example priority selection of ECM's. And all too often, there are few mechanism or incentives for actual performance to be measured and compared to predicted performance, whether it be whole building, whole system, or component by component.

>From the financier's point of view, the importance of Measurement and Verification (M&V) activities as they relate to scenarios such as these cannot be understated.  As John Cowan, Chairman of the EVO Board, often repeats: "M&V is a strategy for establishing a culture of proof."

In an effort to increase the quantity and quality of Certified M&V practitioners available to the marketplace, Performance Systems Development will be offering a 3-day CMVP (Certified M&V Practitioner) course in Ithaca, NY in mid-September.
