[Bldg-sim] Lake Michigan or Chicago River water temperatures?

A million years ago, I did a study on the Palmer House. I recall winter time tap water being 44 degF. I also recall, as a Chicago boy, measuring summer tap water at 74 degF. But nothing monthly.

Subject: [Bldg-sim] Lake Michigan or Chicago River water temperatures?

Dear BLDG-SIM community:

I'm working on energy savings calcs for a project that would use water from the Chicago River for a waterside economizer, via a heat exchanger.

Does anyone know if there are records of water temperature for the Chicago River? If not the river, what about Lake Michigan as a proxy? Hourly would be nice, but monthly would work.

And for the record, since it's almost St Patrick's Day, I don't think green dye affects the thermal properties of the river. ;)

Thanks,
