A little more looking at the code tells me:

ADJUSTED
           !       METABOLIC RATES 350, 400, 450, 500, 750, 850, 1000, AND
           !       1450 BTU/HR EACH AT TEMPERATURES 82, 80, 78, 75, AND 70F.
           !       SENSIBLE GAINS OF 0.0 AT 96F AND EQUAL TO THE METABOLIC RATE
           !       AT 30F WERE ASSUMED IN ORDER TO GIVE REASONABLE VALUES 
BEYOND
           !       THE REPORTED TEMPERATURE RANGE.
