RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Version 1.02 Error

Hi Vasudha

 

This error means your EnergyPlus cant find Energy+.idd file which is the data dictionary for simulation. Probable reasons:

 

1. You are running EnergyPlus from a directory other than <root directory> which is C:\EnergyPlus\

2. You misplaced your Energy+.idd file

 

EXPLAINATION:

EnergyPlus expects following files in the root directory:

    a. in.idf - Input Data File

    b. Energy+.idd - Data Dictionary File

    c. in.epw - Weather File (Only if there is a RunPeriod in the input)

    d. Energy+.ini - Initialization File (optional)

 

Dont worry about in.idf or in.epw - they will be copied from the locations you chose to the <root directory> during simulation run. Just make sure you got Energy+.idd and Energy+.ini in the installation/ <root directory> - whatever you might call it.

 

Refer to: GettingStarted.pdf in documentation folder. Read "Running EnergyPlus" section.

   ************* EnergyPlus Terminated--Fatal Error Detected. 0 Warning; 0 Severe Errors
