Alexander:

There is no requirement that two corresponding interzone surfaces be 
adjacent to each other.  For interzone surfaces, the heat balance 
merely assigns the inside face temperature as the outside face 
temperature of the corresponding surface.  So the area of the 
surfaces should match in order to conserve energy.  And warnings will 
be issued if the tilt and azimuth of the two surfaces do not mirror 
each other.
