Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Calculating Thermal Loads
You do this in EnergyPlus by using a PurchasedAir mechanical system.
That means you still have to make a basic mechanical system with
schedules, PurchasedAir will maintain room conditions at your set
points. You can use it for a design day or hourly weather.

Hi there,
Is it possible to calculate the heating and cooling thermal loads of
a building without detailing the HVAC equipment? ie can the thermal
loads due to transmission gains and losses, solar gains, internal
gains, infiltration etc be calculated by assuming each space is
heated or cooled to a certain temperature ?
If this is possible, can the loads be calculated for each hour over a
year using actual weather data rather than a design day ?
Thanks for your help
Dan
