[EnergyPlus_Support] questions about VAV

  I simulate a very small office room (5.1mX2.6mX3.6m) based on HongKong weather data. The mixed air(return air and fresh air) flow through cooling coil and then supply into the room directly. The vav scheme is emplored. 

  I want to simulate the whole energy consumption in E+. However, some problems puzzle me.

  First, I use SINGLE DUCT:VAV:NOREHEAT object and variable speed fan. From the simulation results, flow rate is constant. Of course it is wrong. Then I wonder if variable speed fan can be used to control air flowrate and no VAV duct is used? At this stage, if it can be said that only primary air loop exists and no zone equpiment? I try it, but error message occurs:

     ** Severe  ** Zone Equipment Return Node (Return Air Path or Controlled Zone Equip Configuration) not valid=ZONE OUTLET NODE
     **   ~~~   ** Occurs in Primary Air Loop=VAV SYS
     **  Fatal  ** Errors found getting Air Primary Loop

  Any guy can give me some instructions? Thanks

      I wonder, in E+, if the air loop and zone equpiment loop are both absolutely necessarily? How about only air loop without zone equpiment loop?
