RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] COMIS AIR FLOW: Opening

I had the same problem when I was using COMIS. I could never get the program
to work with all Cd = 0 and then have COMIS calculate it for me. What I
ended up doing was setting Cd = 1 and then adjusted the amount of the window
opening factor based upon the enthalpy difference between my inside and
outside conditions. When I had Cd = 1 and did not have the window opening
factor, my air flow through my house was ridiculous, ~100 ACH or more.
Based upon a couple of studies Huang et al 1987 and the Building America
program, the outside ventilation rate should be around 7 to 12 ACH.
Therefore, I kept adjusting my window opening factor such that my
ventilation rate was on this order of magnitude. I now this method seems
contrived but it seemed like the only reasonable method to take. Hope this
helps.
