[EnergyPlus_Support] Control Air Primary Loop

Dear All,
 
I am trying to save energy in a five zone building by controlling the Air Primary Loop. The similar IDF file in the examples using only schedule as a method of saving the energy. In my case i tried to use the differential temperature thermostat as well as the schedule to be sure that the air not supplied to the zone when should not be. My questions are:
 
1) Is my approach would be helpful?
2) In the IDF example file the field Controller list is empty, this in Air Primary Loop object, is that correct?
3) What kind of controller can be associate with the previous method that may improve controlling of VAV system?
