RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Windows construction

Jun,

I asked similar question sometime back and got the response stating it was
not possible at that moment (forwarded mail below). You can use WINDOW5 to
create a window which matches the indices you specify. You can vary the gap
width, fill gas (e.g. Argon) and lowE glass to achieve these values.

It is not possible at this time. There is some work being done about this
but probably won't be ready for the next release.

I do not know if Window5 might be able to accept those parameters or help
you select a standard glass/window if you gave it those parameters -- I did
not get an answer on that.

Linda,
I was just following up with my earlier email and was wondering if you got
any answer on the possibility of specifying NFRC U-Factor and SHGC/VT in E+.

Thanks

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Windows construction

Dear All,

I am trying to model a window construction. The data I have are U-
factor (2.0), SHGC(0.33), and Visible transmittance(0.51) for the
window system. I do not have detailed data for each layers of glasses
and thickness.
Is there a way to model this window without specifying each layers of
window glasses and air? or Do I have to construct a similar windows
systems using the dataset in E+?

Thanks in advance

Jun Moon
