RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] geothermal heat pump

Hi Hyeun,

No. We do not have an explicit model for horizontal ground loop heat exchangers. The only ground loop heat exchanger is that of a vertical ground heat exchanger. The Ground Heat Exchanger : Surface object is used for systems like Pavement rejecters or hydronically heated slabs.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] geothermal heat pump

Dear All,

I would like to model a geothermal heat pump with horizontal pipes
(depth 5ft). Is it possible to model this system in EnergyPlus? Can I
use Ground Heat Exchanger:Surface? Do I have to go TRNSYS? If you know
any similar examples, please let me know.
Thanks for your help in advance.

Hyeun
