Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] discharge coefficients

Sebastian,

The COMIS 3.0 User's Manual talks only about discharge coefficients for
window LVO type 1, so I don't think this is of any help. Sorry.

Joe Huang

"In column 2 the discharge coefficient Cd can be given for the opening
factor of that line. If
the user inputs Cd = 0, the program will determine the Cd from the other
input parameters:

Internal doors: Cd=f(Height of the door/Height of the room); With this
function Cd
will be in the range from 0.05 to 0.5
External openings: Cd=f(wind velocity, temp. difference, depth of the room);
With this function Cd
will be in the range from 0.6 to 1.5.

If Cd has to be calculated by the program, the following restrictions apply
for the input:
 1. LVO must be type 1
 2. Cd=0; for all opening factors"

(fr. COMIS 3.0 User's Guide (Feustel and Smith, ed.
1997), pp. 61-62.)
