RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Comfort

I was referring to comfort as in the two regions (one for summer and one for
winter) plotted on humidity ratio vs temperature graph of ASHRAE 55. Correct
me if I am wrong, humidity ratio refers to the humidity of the air in the
zone.

E+ Engineering Reference documentation gives nomenclature and formula for
Fanger's PMV (which, in E+, can be non-discrete). Relative humidity (or
humidity ratio or wet bulb temperature of the zone) is not one of the
variables in the nomenclature. I am not sure if it is implicit in one of
Fanger's variables.

When comparing weather in Malaysia and Australia, we (in Malaysia) normally
say that the humidity in Malaysia is higher than that in Australia so we
feel less comfortable (more sweat on our skins and clothes) than summer in
Australia even though the temperature in Australian summer could be higher.

Not sure I understand what you are saying, but zone air humidity does
enter into the comfort calculations such as Fanger PMV.

Is humidity accounted for as latent heat, thus we have thermal comfort
and no reference to comfort caused by humidity?
