Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Vertical Stack to induce natural ventilation

Ooi:

The Airflow Network model is not a good model to simulate natural
ventilation in a vertical stack. The main reason is that the model does not
have a component to deal with large horizontal openings accurately for the
time being.

However, you may try it with following suggestions using the AirflowNetwork
model:

1 Create one or more zones for a vertical stack
2 Create a zone you would like to ventilate
3 Use a component (AirflowNetwork:Multizone:Component Detailed Opening)
to connect the vetilated zone and the vertical stack zone.
4 If you create more vertical stack zones, use the same compoent to
connect two vertical stack zones. One way flow will be obtained from
horizontal openings.
5 Follow rules of the AirflowNetwork model to create a network. See
references to get detailed information.

Please let me know what happens.
