[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Precipitation data

That field is not precipitation.  Note from our description of the EPW 
fields:

Field: Precipitable Water
This is the value for Precipitable Water in mm. (This is not "rain" ? 
rain is incorporated in the preceding two fields). It is not currently 
used in EnergyPlus calculations (primarily due to the unreliability of 
the reporting of this value). Missing value is 999.

As the TMY2 manual states (for one of the data source 
flags) "Precipitable water, calculated from surface vapor pressure; 
aerosol optical depth, estimated from geographic correlation "
