Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Strange Dates in Daylighting Map

Dear Linda,
Thanks for the information about weather files, I think that the IWEC is better to use but just need to check its monthly statistics of solar radiation means the avg. or the accumulate sum of solar radiation per month?
I'm also trying to find the article you refered to but couldn't so far.. any how thank you very much

Both those files you are viewing are from Cairo Egypt, with the same
WMO number so the weather program seeks out the Climate Design Data
stats from the 2005 ASHRAE HOF. That is why the top part of the
stats look similar.

Both sources of the data are "typical years" though the methods of
selection may have been different, you can read about ETMY and IWEC here:
http://www.eere.energy.gov/buildings/energyplus/weatherdata_sources.html

and decide which one is probably best for your purposes. You can
also read about

You also might look for this article:
Crawley, Drury B. 1998. "Which Weather Data Should You Use for Energy
Simulations of
Commercial Buildings?," ASHRAE Transactions, 104 Pt. 2. Atlanta: ASHRAE.

You will have to use your engineering judgement to determine which file to use.
