Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] Usage of Real Weather Data

Hello.

You'll find a number of thesis, papers and reports on calibrating simulations on-line at the ESL's web page under publications. This includes info on wea data.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Usage of Real Weather Data

Hi, I am doing a project (academic) which requires the calibration of
a building simulation I am performing. As part of the calibration I
would be collecting weather data, as I understand it I should need the
following data:
1. Dry bulb Temperature
2. Relative Humidity
3. Wind Speed
4. Wind Direction
5. Barometric Pressure
6. Total Horizontal Radiation
I am planning on using a program I found (DISC Model) to convert Total
Horizontal Radiation into direct solar radiation.

My question would be, are the data I am planning to collect sufficient
to do a simulation? and what is the less painful format to use to
arrage the data for the weather conversion utility?

Thanks.
