RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] modelling a fountain within a patio

Hi Marzia

I have just done a similar model (see the thread on modelling misters).
Basically you can do it with a water use equipment object , but with the
following restrictions:

-you have to state the fraction of sensible and latent heat gains to the
system - it can't calculate it for you as it is far too complex for E+ to
handle

-the latent heat gain to system will not translate into a temperature change
of the zone, but it will increase the relative humidity, and give you an
output variable that shows the latent heat gain to the zone. All of the heat
loss of the object will flow out through reduced temperature in the drain
water.

Cheers

Danny

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] modeling a fountain within a patio

Hi there,

I am modeling a circular patio which is
located inside a mall with a big glass trumpet-shaped roof. In the
middle of the patio
(radius = 19 m) there is a big fountain whose radius is equal to 5 m,
which
might effect the air temperature (considering it is pretty high during
summer because of all the glass on the roof). do you know if there is
any way to model the fountain either case to consider its effect on the
air?

thanks a lot once more

Marzia
