Re: [EnergyPlus_Support] radiance vs E+

Danny,

There are a significant number of differences between Radiance and
EnergyPlus. The choice of tools really depends on the intent of your
analysis. A key difference is that Radiance is a very powerful tool for
both qualitative (visual images) and quantitative analysis of detailed
scenes, primarily for a single set of exterior lighting conditions.
EnergyPlus is less detailed and provides no visual images of lighting,
but is extremely useful for analyzing the dynamic interactive impacts of
daylighting on all building systems (including electric lighting and
HVAC) on an hourly basis throughout a typical meteorological year.

There are many other algorithmic differences that would need further
explanation.
