RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Sketchup interface

Hi Jim,

Have you discovered the help files yet? They're hidden away under the
menu Plugins/Energy Design Plugin/User Guide. Take a look at the
section called "Using The Plugin". It should answer most of your
questions.

In a nutshell, you do all of the things you mentioned using the regular
SketchUp tools: Rectangle, Line, Push/Pull, Move, Rotate, etc. The key
is to create an EnergyPlus zone first, using the "New EnergyPlus Zone"
toolbar button. Then you double-click the zone to "open" it for
editing. Next, start drawing... Everything you draw inside of that
zone becomes EnergyPlus surfaces.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Sketchup interface

I tried the SketchUp Add-in today. It's not clear how:
1. Surfaces in SketchUp become walls in E+ zones
2. Zones are sized - except by rescaling.
3. Windows (more rectangles, I guess) become cut-outs in walls.

Any help from the E+ team would be appreciated.

Regards,
Jim McNally
