My apologies for the slow response.

You can simply change the zone names on the surfaces and leave the partition 
surfaces in place.  The two instances of the partition will be linked thermally 
and contribute mass to the zone.  You will get some warnings about interzone 
surfaces in the same zone, but this can be ignored for this case.
