As far as I know, (and I will in no way claim to be an expert in the
subject), the calculation engine in E+ (successive substitution) does not
gain anything from being run on multiple cores of a pc or a pc cluster.  In
a program like Fluent, the domain can be broken into separate chunks, and
only data at each boundary need be communicated.  For E+, information is
flying all over the place.  One thing people use multiple computers for is
to start multiple instances of E+ to run multiple simulations at the same
time.

If anyone out there has any more to say, please fill in the gaps or correct
me - or back me up :) -
