The Input-Output Reference describes what objects are needed for each system configuration. 

 

Also there are more than 200 example files (C:\EnergyPlusV2-2-0\ExampleFiles) which provide examples of materials, systems, and equipment configurations.

I tried with some set of values I had but still giving some error.I just want to know, There are almost 50 classes in that and each having 8 to 10 questions. Example in manual show you need not have to fill all details.Just for confirmation, Do I need to fill out all details to obtain the result?. Well next time I will post with obtained error name.

Hello Energy Plus team

This is Sandeep Kulkarni, student from University of Illinois at Chicago.I was just trying to estimate energy use for a particular building at my university. I am using this software for first time so can you please tell me where can I find details about all Class lists under IDF editor. There are almost 50 classes in that and each having 8 to 10 questions.Do I need to fill out all details to obtain the result? I went through all 5 manuals present under help menu but they are quite huge, so can you tell me what all I need to look for quick glance?
I am attaching a screen shot for your convenience. I am really sorry for so many questions.I believe your answers will help me to learn this software much better.
