RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Changing Door/Window Surface Type

Possible but it will take some changes in your IDF and objects-- as the sub-surface has slightly different fields.

One suggestion.  Open the IDF Editor and create a new IDF with only two objects -- a heat transfer surface and a sub-surface.  Don't need to put any data in.  Save the IDF -- the IDF Editor will put comments identifying the fields in the correct order (even when blank) and the units.

Then open that IDF in a text editor (or print it out).  Use that as an example of how to change your incorrect heat transfer objects to sub-surfaces.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] Changing Door/Window Surface Type

I created an idf in ECOTECT, and all of the doors and windows were
exported, but appear as HeatTransfer surfaces and not
HeatTransfer:Sub. Because the fields are not the same, I cannot just
copy paste... does anyone know how to edit the surface type? Thanks.

Also, apologies if this already appeared once...
