[EnergyPlus_Support] Insufficient Vertex entries error message

When I try to run my simulation, the program crashes because of severe
errors concerning doors which say:

"GetHTSubSurfaceData: Insufficient number of vertex (autocalculate)
entries for Surface="NORTH_DOOR7" must be >= 3. Only 4 provided."

This message alone doesn't make much sense, but there are also warning
messages for each of these severe errors that say:

"GetHTSubSurfaceData: Number of vertex entries for
Surface="NORTH_DOOR7" not even multiple of 3. Will read in 4"

Does anyone know why doors have to have a multiple of 3 vertices?
