[EnergyPlus_Support] Boiler is Heating but no metered energy consumption

I have added a baseboard heater to a zone in a modelled building, with the baseboard heater 
connected to a hot water supply from a gas fired boiler object.

The results show the baseboard heater is controlling the temperature in the zone to which it 
is associated. The meter "Output:Meter, Gas:*, Hourly;", however, records zero energy 
use/gas consumption.

The fact that the zone temperature is being controlled, makes me think the issue is related to 
the Output meter. Does anyone have any advice as how to solve this problem (i.e. steps to 
making sure the metering and plant set up are correct)?
