[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: Site vs Source energy

Without researching in detail, my understanding is that "site" energy
is the energy used at the building site. This is what is reported on
a utility company billing.
The "source" energy adds an amount, which varies by region, that
includes the additional energy required to create and transport energy
to your site.

In general "site" and "source" are the same for fuels such as oil or
natural gas. Electricity, however, often has a dramatically higher
"source" energy than "site" energy due to the fact that it is normally
created by burning fuel, and the amount of energy required to create
1MW for use at your site is much greater than 1MW.
