can i use autocad/sketch up for simulation?i dont understand one
things,for the simulation at first need a idf file but can we use a drawing
file or design file for simulation?

There are different idf example files with material properties.
There should be a list of idf files under the DataSets folder. I think
it is the ASHRAE_HOF idf file or something like that.
I think it has a list of material properties.

If you are familiar with building simulation
already, you can use the 200+ example files that come with the program
along with the Input Output Reference (which describes each input and
output) to help you..
If you are not familiar with building
simulation, we suggest you start with the "Getting Started" document
and work through the tutorial examples there.
