[EnergyPlus_Support] lighting control: lighting on although illuminance exceeds setpoint

dear all,

I am simulating a simple office room, with one daylight reference point (central) and stepped control (only on/off). My illumincance setpoint is 500lux, however, there are hours where illuminance exceeds 500lux, but lighting is switched on. What could be the reason? I am using hourly outputs but simulation time step is 4, does that have some influence?

I would be happy about any help,

Astrid
