RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] Re: What will the weather file override?

I believe it first fills the field with a default value derived from the Standard.  Then if you change it, your override will be preserved.  But the logic for this sort of thing quickly gets fairly complex, so in the end you still need to check the IDF.

Thanks. I see what you are talking about now. I failed to notice that economizers must change (although insulation and windows are the same). I will definitely need to take that into account. The EEFG gives the option of including an economizer. Does the standard override that choice? Are does my decision override the standard?

But that does not appear to impact the standard requirements. I ran both cities through EEFG and double checked by looking at the 2004 standard to make sure. But yes, different climate zones will make a huge difference. That is why I am running an EEFG for a city in each climate zone to get the correct building design for the zone and then changing the location within that zone. I am trying to find a faster and more reliable way to rerun each location because running it online takes a lot of time and is much easier to make a mistake.

I would like to change the location characteristics within that climate zone (e.g. Phoenix to New Orleans) to run the same simulation in a different city. What parameters in the IDF file will be overridden by the weather file and what will I need to change by hand?
