Prasad,
LBNL has developed a tool that semi-automatically imports building geometry from model-based CAD into EnergyPlus. The tool is called GST/IDF Generator (where GST stands for "Geometry Simplification Tool)". The tool imports original CAD building geometry with space boundary definitions, contained in an IFC file; it automatically applies data transformation rules that reflect EnergyPlus requirements, adds definitions of construction materials and glazing, and generates the corresponding IDF file.
GST/IDF Generator generates the definition of building geometry in IDF format typically in less than one minute, instead of days or weeks it would take to generate the same manually. There are currently two "catches" in the described process: at this moment only one CAD tool (ArchiCAD's IFC2x3 Utility) can generate correct space boundaries, and the imported IFC file must be "clean" (e.g., it must have successfully passed a check with the Solibri Model Checker).
GST/IDF Generator was publicly demonstrated as part of the Open Geospatial Consortium's (OGC) AECOO-1 Testbed demo in Washington, DC at the end of March, and then again as an international webinar on May 28, 2009. One can watch a streaming one-hour recording of the webinar at http://www.opengeospatial.org/pub/www/aecoo-1/index.html.

Hi Friends,
Can anyone suggest IFC TO IDF entity mapping or any utility which does that apart from BS Pro COM Server
Thank you
