RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] warm-up days

No that is not what is meant.

EnergyPlus models transient thermal behavior of surfaces that can store and release heat over long timeframes.  This makes it a bit difficult to model the first day of a simulation because performance depends on the previous days, but they are not in the simulation.  “Warm up” days are used to precondition the thermal transients by rerunning the first day over and over until the results settle down.

Subject: [EnergyPlus_Support] warm-up days

Hello,
Forgive me for the very dumb question. Can someone explain what is meant by a warm-up day? Is it a day that is cold enough to warrant heating?
Thank you!
Patricia
