The IDF is just a text file. Suggest trying to rename
the extension from .txt to .idf.

suggested in the input-output ref doc) and a parsing error window popped up. It
said I should correct a missing colon and a couple of other editing errors via
the Text editor. It also suggested I save my active IDF file with a new
name--which was not possible as the file closed automatically as soon as i
finished closing out the parsing error windows. So now i have a text file, but
no idf file. I've been working on this file for 2 weeks!! Can i import the info
from the text file (have perused all help files and haven't found any info) or
do i have to input all over again?? __._,_.___ The primary EnergyPlus web site is found at: http://www.energyplus.gov The group web site is: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/EnergyPlus_Support/ Attachments are currently allowed but be mindful that not everyone has a high speed connection.
