[EnergyPlus_Support] Daylighting control reference points

Hi All,
I'd like to simulate an open office environment with shades, controlled lighting, and daylight sensors. The space is very large and the shade position varies a lot from window to window, so the results are highly-sensitive to where the reference points are positioned. For instance, if the shade in front of the reference point happens to be open and it receives direct beam radiation, the lights in the entire space would shut off even if it's relatively dark elsewhere.

Is there anyway to point the sensors/reference point downwards from the ceiling so that they see the reflected light from the floor (and hence the sampled illuminated workplane area would be effectively larger than a point)?

The alternative solution would be to break the office space into multiple zones just so that I can have more reference points, but that becomes less representative of reality.

Thanks.
