[EnergyPlus_Support] Re: What is the boolean operation in the new DesignBuilder v2.2?



Hiya,

Boolean works on Outline blocks and you use it before you convert them to building blocks.

The difference between this and "Merge..." is that boolean "union" can generate one fully enclosed block instead of two connected by a hole. It's also handy if you want to create concave elements of geometry (e.g. a roof valley) by Boolean subtraction.

For Example, you could "union" a dome on top of a box and then partition anywhere in the resulting building block.

I tried it last in Beta and it was still a bit glitchy. That was a while ago though.
