RE: [EnergyPlus_Support] ground floor construction questions

In my opinion:

On case 1) it’s no necessary to put soil on the construction but it will be necessary introduce ground temperatures object.

On case 2) you can add a thermal zone below your building representing this ventilated space (introducing its ventilation conditions).

Asunto: [EnergyPlus_Support] ground floor construction questions

Hello everyone,

I have two questions regarding the inputs of ground floor construction?

1.The proposed floor in my building is the concrete slab on ground, which it is adjacent to the soil below; do I need to put a material called soil in the construction? If the answer is no, does the programme assume the floor construction is connected to the ground below, thus calculate the heat transfer between internal space and the ground?

2.The other option for the floor is the suspended timber structure floor, which means there is a 300mm ventilated gap between the underneath of floor and soil surface, how can I put this in my calculation?

Many thanks in advance.

Yuan
