[EnergyPlus_Support] CTF calculation with multilayer assemblies
Hello -
I've been looking into the conduction transfer equations, and I have a quick question which I hope someone can clarify.
The engineering reference (p.23 of v.4) refers to a wall assembly and treats it as a two-node circuit connected to internal and external temperatures. This, I believe, assumes a homogeneous wall assembly because C is rho*Cp*l*A/2 (half of the assembly for each side). My question is: when E+ gets a multi-layer assembly does it string together a line of these resistance/capacitance circuits - or does it calculate an equivalent bulk resistance and capacitance for the assembly and use the two-node model? Looking at the Surface Output Variables in the InputOutput reference I see outputs for surface inside temperature and surface outside temperature, but not for temperatures at interior layers of the assembly. If it does make the full string of resistance-capacitance nodes - how can we access the internal temperatures of the assembly?
cheers
