[EnergyPlus_Support] tab in front of HVACTemplate: a bug?

All,

I always assume that white-spaces (both tab and space) are ignored in
EnergyPlus IDF file. That is why I was pulling my hair trying to
troubleshoot a strange problem. Strange because the error message says:

** Severe ** HVACTemplate objects are found in the IDF File.

** Fatal ** Program Terminates: The ExpandObjects program has not been run or is not in your EnergyPlus.exe folder.

...Summary of Errors that led to program termination:

    ..... Reference severe error count=1

..... Last severe error=HVACTemplate objects are found in the IDF File.

************* Warning: Node connection errors not checked - most system input has not been read (see previous warning).

************* Fatal error -- final processing. Program exited before simulations began. See previous error messages.

************* EnergyPlus Warmup Error Summary. During Warmup: 0 Warning; 0 Severe Errors.

************* EnergyPlus Sizing Error Summary. During Sizing: 0 Warning; 0 Severe Errors.

    ************* EnergyPlus Terminated--Fatal Error Detected. 0 Warning; 1 Severe Errors; Elapsed Time=00hr 00min 4.04sec

It turns out that the HVACTemplate objects do not like tab in front of
the object. If you have tab space(s) in front of the HVACTemplate
object, you will have fatal error similar to the above. I have
replicated this problem on several HVACTemplate objects in one of the
example files.

Just be careful with your text editor before the developers fix this.

Cheers,

Ery
